Immerse yourself in the fascinating themes of space, the environment, artificial intelligence, robotics and fablabs through short experiments linked to the extra-curricular and school activities that La Scientothèque - ESERO-Belgium offers young people throughout the year.

  • Activity 1 – Mission robot sur Mars
This computer-free activity allows children to discover the basics of programming by taking turns playing the roles of a mission controller and a robot on a mission to Mars.
    > FR-EN / 3 to 8 years
    > Friday - Running continuously / Max 10 pupils per session
    > Weekend - Running continuously

  • Activity 2 – Craters and meteorites
This activity about lunar craters allows young people to explore the concept of energy through experiments.
    > FR-EN / 8 to 14 years
    > Friday - Running continuously / Max 10 pupils per session
    > Weekend - Running continuously

  • Activity 3 – Fablab
This activity introduces students to 3D drawing software (Tinkercad) and the use of 3D printers.
    > FR-EN / 10 to 20 years
    > Friday - Running continuously / Max 10 pupils per session
    > Weekend - Running continuously

  • Activity 4 – Discovering conductivity
Discover the basics of electronics with fruit and vegetables, a computer and a Makey-Makey kit!
    > FR-EN / 3 to 8 years
    > Friday - Running continuously / Max 10 pupils per session
    > Weekend - Running continuously

  • Activity 5 – Reactions
This activity lets young people measure their reaction time using a graduated ruler on the one hand, and a programme using a microcontroller (STM 32) connected to an electronic circuit on the other
    > FR-EN / 8 to 14 years
    > Friday - Running continuously / Max 10 pupils per session
    > Weekend - Running continuously

  • Activity 6 – Sorting waste
This activity aims to raise students' awareness of selective sorting by designing a machine capable of sorting various types of waste corresponding to the different recycling categories. To distinguish between the different types of waste, the students create an image recognition model, then build a rudimentary machine using a Micro:Bit card and a servomotor. You'll be a master sorter in no time!
    > FR-EN / 10 to 20 years
    > Friday - Running continuously / Max 10 pupils per session
    > Weekend - Running continuously

  • Activity 7 – Data Walk
Take part in a ‘data walk’ during the festival! Explore the venue and its surroundings and uncover various sensors (cameras, microphones, antennas, electric scooters, etc.) that can power artificial intelligence systems. Simple and flexible, this activity is ideal for sparking conversations on the use of intelligent technologies in public spaces.
    > FR-EN / 10 to 20 years
    > Friday - Running continuously / Max 10 pupils per session
    > Weekend - Running continuously

  • Activity 8 – Ateliers ESERO: Mission X
Train like an astronaut: measure your reaction time, test your skills with astronaut gloves or a bionic hand, and discover the secrets hidden in your own hand.
    > FR / 10 to 20 years
    > Friday – 60 minutes /Max 12 pupils per session / 9:30 (FR)
    > Weekend - Only on Friday

  • Activity 9 – Ateliers ESERO: Mission Zero
This workshop teaches young people how to write a programme designed to display a drawing on board the International Space Station.
    > EN / 8 to 12 years
    > Friday – 60 minutes / Max 12 pupils per session / 11:00 (EN)
    > Weekend - Only on Friday

  • Activity 10 – Generative AI
The activity introduces pupils to generative AI tools and suggests possible scenarios for their use. It also aims to clarify how these new technologies work and to discuss their limitations, particularly in terms of reliability and creativity.
    > FR / 10 to 14 years
    > Friday - Booking in advance required / 60 minutes / Max 12 pupils per session / 14:00 (FR)
    > Weekend - Only on the Friday
